SIP is attracting highly educated talents with substantial benefits. Dr. Lu Ying, a returnee from University College London, is one of the beneficiaries.

After only two years of work in a tech company, Lu bought a house in SIP earlier this year with a housing subsidy of RMB250,000.

“I learned about the housing coupons late last year. It is simple to apply for, and I soon received the coupon,” said the girl, who will move into her new home in May.

Additionally, as one of the talents urgently needed in the key industries of SIP, Lu has received an annual living subsidy of RMB40,000 for two consecutive years, and she is applying for the policy support given by the provincial government to innovation and entrepreneurship talents with doctoral degrees.

Lu said SIP’s innovative atmosphere and industrial ecosystem were also key reasons for her decision to stay.

“I’m participating in several cutting-edge research projects in my company, and I hope to delve deeper in the field I specialize in,” she said.

Lu is also full of praise for the quality of life in SIP. She likes the seasonal delicacies, and often spends her leisure time cycling around Jinji Lake and Yangcheng Lake, or just walking around to savor the vibrant atmosphere of the place.
