To give young working parents a helping hand in taking care of their children during the winter vacation, Loufeng Sub-district in SIP launched a week-long care service, benefiting 40 youngsters aged 6 to 14.

The service was offered at two sites, respectively in Fengnanlu Community and Su’anbei Community, under the collaboration of the local Communist Youth League working committee, federation of trade unions and women’s federation.

A number of residents and college students joined as volunteers, helping the youngsters with their homework and guiding them in learning new knowledge and skills in various classes such as those on handiwork, painting and science.

The participating children and teens also had the chances to learn to make bean curd in a factory and learn about elevators and escalators at a skill training base focused on intelligent equipment.

It is worth mentioning that the New Era Civilization Practice Stations in different communities in the sub-district also organized diverse winter vacation events for local youngsters, including those on safety, traditional crafts and traditional Chinese medicine.
